When you launch Snapheal, you are offered an option to open the new image or go back to last session. To load a new picture drag it to the rectangle box or click the open button and choose a picture from a directory on your Mac.

Snapheal lets you open files up to 32 megapixel

If you have a file of a bigger size, you can still open it with Snapheal, but it will be automatically resized according to the maximum supported size by the version.

Erase tab

To perform erasing first pick the selection tool in Erase tab - either Brush or Lasso.

You may pick brush diameter and then use mouse or touchpad to paint over the area you want to erase.

To easily erase straight lines click & hold "Shift" button after setting a sampling point. Set the final point then and release “Shift” - you will get the straight line marked for erasing at once.

To easily erase big objects of different form use lasso tool - either polygonal or free.
Set a sampling point and start drawing until you reach the final point. When you finish the area for erasing will be marked in red.

Once you marked the object to erase, select the precision of erasing at the bottom of Erase tab.
Highest precision gives best quality but takes some time.
Normal saves your time, but the outcome is a bit worse than with other modes.

You can also remove extra selections with Erasor tool.

Use zoom-in the image to see more details.

The maximum zoom-in ratio is the actual size of your image. If you want to see the actual size of your image right away, click on the "Actual Size" icon.

Then click on one of the erasing modes – the process will start instantly.

There are three erasing modes: Wormhole, Shapeshift, and Twister.
As every image is unique, try different modes for best results.
Testing showed that Wormhole will perform best when erasing small objects or fixing skin imperfections; use Shapeshift to get rid of big objects; it is recommended to use Twister to erase multiple small objects or while working with sky & clouds type of background.

Once you've done with erasing click on the “Compare” icon on the top panel to open two images - the original and the resulting.
Now you can preview how the resulting image will be different from the original.

Use undo and redo button on the top - Snapheal supports multiple undo and redo.

Clone & stamp tool

Clone & Stamp tool allows you to duplicate part of an image. The process involves setting a sampling point that will be used as a reference to create a new cloned area.

Click and hold “Option” button and set the sampling point by clicking on it.

Release “Option” and paint anywhere on the picture. The cloned area will be drawn continuously until you release the mouse. You will be able to preview the area that you are cloning – it will be marked by little cross.

Retouch tab

These tools let you enhance a certain part of the image.
First adjust diameter, opacity and softness of the brush. Now pick what exactly you want to fix: exposure, saturation, sharpen, RGB etc.

Use your mouse or touchpad to mark the area you want to enhance. For better preview of the area choose "Mask" icon (the mask will be depicted in red color). If "Mask" button is not selected, you will be able to preview the changes live (e.g. the saturation will change as you paint over the area)

Once you select the area, you may continue to enhance it with other controls. To get rid of a certain selection, use “Erasor”. You can also “Clear” the whole selection.

Adjust tab

You can manually adjust Exposure, Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, Hue, adjust Clarify, Shadows & Highlights and other features for a whole image.

Transform palette

You can further transform the image using crop tool, flip and rotate options.

To perform cropping adjust the crop area either by setting exact parameters or by adjusting the cropping square with the mouse.
You can also adjust the angle of the crop or pick from default cropping sizes. Once ready, click crop.

You may also rotate image and flip it vertically or horizontally.

Once you are done with editing, you may share your photos via most popular social media. Pick import icon on the top menu; you will see a list of social networks available for sharing.

You can share images to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, print it or send via email.
